It was Christ
Yes, it was He Who has been trying to teach me
A great lesson, but I was numb brained,
Until a few moments back.
He tried all of His teaching methods...,
Still I was dumb and dimwitted,
I just kicked like any school kid
Refusing to listen,
Unable to understand!
Then He took the rod yesterday,
And He plucked off the parasitic orchid
And threw it into the heap of dry leaves
Left at the corner to be burnt!
In all His fury, He cut all the garden lilies
As with a scythe, so furious was He!!
And I, in all my preposterousness, thought
He was mad!
But today, Grace came epiphanically… so to say,
For I had somehow decided to listen,
So I had shut down all the external voices
That kept enamouring me till then.
And I realized.
Yes , I became coignizant of
Yes , I became coignizant of
How the little orchid with its mild flowering
(That too, once in a blue moon!)
Had diverted my eyes away from the tall teak
That was growing so majestically, just in front of me.
Watering the garden lilies had taken all my attention away
From the forest that was growing in my garden!!
The potted pink flowers had confined me
To its little pots, which, by watering it
I visualized I could make a forest out of it !!!
The potted plants I thought would suffice
To meditate on the vast glory of God!!!
And that was what made my Beloved furious.
He wanted me to focus on the wild,
On the majestically grand tectona grandis
That now gives me the impression of a real oak
In a real Forest !
Thank You my Christ
Thank You my Lord
I shall listen, I shall see
But I need Your Grace.
